There are obviously some things that women should avoid while engaged in an internet relationship with a man. These things can put a quick end to any further communication with him.
While communicating by email or chatting online, do not write your life story. His eyes might glaze over and he could fall out of his chair. Keep it sweet and short until he asks for details…then provide them slowly. Remember: only answer the questions he asks. For example, he might ask you how many siblings you have. He is NOT obviously asking for details about your interaction with them. He just wants to know how many you have. Say you have 1, 2, 3 (or whatever is your reality) and then, in turn, ask him also how many he has. Why not? For every question he asks you, don’t be shy: you can also ask one of him.
Never, ever, EVER lie. You know it already: lies will catch up with you sooner or later. Many people, women and men alike, are tempted to lie about their age, employment, marital status, weight, height, and a wide host of other small things in their online profiles. That is certainly a big mistake. Suppose you find a gentleman who you are genuinely interested in and he later finds out you lied to him. There goes suddenly any possibility of the relationship progressing any further. So, the rule of thumb is: just be honest. There is certainly someone out there who genuinely will like you…even will come to love you…for exactly who you are.
Don’t be too eager. It would make you look desperate and it is very likely to put a prospect (man) off. Men are first and foremost conquerors. They are funny! If they feel that getting the person of their choice is just too easy, they will quickly lose interest and the initial enthusiasm. I don’t advise you to play the “hard-to-get” either. I only mean: don’t be too eager to push for a face-to-face meeting for example. Control the frequency of your emails. Don’t email them or IM them too frequently. Play it safe always and play it cool. Your success will be guaranteed.
Enjoy your dating.

Some people seem to let their online relationship go on too long while it should probably have been ended much earlier. This can be a waste of time and source of future frustration.
You know already that you have to be clear with your dating goals. You know that you have to be honest about yourself and with the others. If you feel that for any reasons you are no longer attracted to someone, or that you simply do not see a future beyond a friendship, let them know right away. Do not make the mistake of letting a hopeless relationship go on for too long. Do not try to spare anyone’s feelings. You are certainly not doing them any favors by giving them false hope.
Bear in mind that the world of online dating is often messy and complicated. A tactful and honest communication style will get you a long way through that maze.
Enjoy your dating experience.

When you join an online dating service, you will probably be overwhelmed with the sheer number of profiles available for your perusal. After reading a profile, don’t rush into entering in relationship with the person. Take a moment to make a full appraisal of the situation.
This is a crucial step that many online daters are unfortunately tempted to skip. Don’t skip it. Go through it and you will soon be rewarded with the right date.
Ask yourself why you are attracted to this person. Is it because of the profile, or is it simply because you find their picture attractive? Is it for the right reasons? Do you think that you have a lot of things in common? Do you share a similar sense of humor or outlook on life? Do you share common dating goals?
The right reasons are that you seem to have a lot of things in common, you seem to share a similar sense of humor or outlook on life, and you seem to share common dating goals. You will save yourself a lot of time and energy in the long run if you take a moment to assess the situation before deciding to contact that person.
Knowing what you want will be rewarding and will avoid you a lot of grief and lost time.
Enjoy your dating experience.

Once you have identified your potential online date and started an email and phone communication with them, do not let your online relationship drag on too long before you decide to meet. It could be a big mistake. This occurs specially with people that are shy, hesitant, or simply people who lack an open communication style. As soon as you really find yourself very interested in the other person and you have clear signs that the other person is also interested, you will need to set up a date. Don’t be tempted to remain in email and telephone mode for long. Both of you need to meet face-to-face in order to confirm your impressions and feelings.
Emails and phone relationships often languish or can easily settle into a comfortable pen pal-like friendship. Avoid this scenario by being honest and open with the other person. It is important to let them know that you are interested in meeting in person after a couple of weeks of the mailing and talking on the phone. Nobody would take offense: after all, both of you know the reasons why you joined the online dating service.
Enjoy your dating experience.

You have gone through the personal ads and have filtered out potential dates according to compatibility and other essential factors. Through e-mail and telephone conversations, you have already taken some time in getting to know better that someone special you met through your online dating service. You feel now truly attracted to that person and you have decided to have a first face-to-face meeting.
Here are a few tips for your first date:
Make sure your first date is as low pressure as possible.
Keep it short and casual. You should not attempt to meet for a fancy dinner for the first time you meet.
Arrange to meet in a public space, somewhere that is active and full of people like a shopping center, a busy coffee bar…
A word of caution for women. Remember: your safety is paramount. Even though you have been exchanging messages and talking on the phone, that person is still a stranger and you only know from him what he told you. So be careful and avoid falling in a trap. Things can still get awkward and you have to keep that in mind.
Enjoy your dating experience.

Many people ask how you can know that it’s time to ask your potential love to go out on a first real date. All depends on the character and the dating style of both of you. There are people who think that you should ask for a date right away. Others believe that you should take it slow as described earlier, getting to know the person via e-mail and telephone first. The truth is that this has a lot to do with your own personal dating style, and the dating style of the person you are talking to.
However, bear in mind that many online relationships have withered away because the first date was never set up, or it was set up too late. Ideally, you will want to set up your first date when you feel comfortable with that person, comfortable enough at least, to meet them in person and to envisage a stronger relationship. In general, you should ask for the first date after you have exchanged messages and emails, and you have talked to the person on the phone at least two or three times.
Remember, you will be spending time, money and energy with this person in this first date. So, make sure it is someone you feel compatible with. The rule of thumb should be: “whatever you do, don’t wait too long”. Waiting too long could set up too many expectations and could potentially put too much pressure on you when you finally set up that first offline face-to-face meeting.

Online dating is getting more popular every day. For different reasons which we discuss elsewhere, more and more people who want to find their soul mate choose to try their luck on the Internet.
Online dating services are not exclusively used by singles. Married guys also use them, for different reasons. Some might be thinking of separating from their wives, others might just be looking for extra-marital adventures behind their wives’ back.
As a girl, you would not like to embark in a relationship with a guy without knowing if he is married or not. Unfortunately, not all guys are honest and straightforward. The married guy will pose as if he was single and obviously won’t claim straight away that he is married and wants to cheat on his wife.
So which signs can show a girl that the guy she is dating through the online service is married? Here are some clues you might find useful:
- The picture on his profile page.
One first way to know, whether a guy is married can be the picture on his profile page.
Usually, married guys tend to use cover names and do not want to be recognized by anybody flipping through an online dating catalogue. Therefore, in their online profile, they post pictures in which they cannot be recognized or they do not post pictures at all. So, if the guy has not posting a picture or has posted a picture that is blurry or very dark, that could be a sign that he might be married. Also, note that if they did not post a picture online, they might want to send you one through either e-mail or regular mail where it is less likely that somebody recognizes them.
- The phone number issue.
Many married men want to have the home telephone numbers of their online date, but to protect themselves, they will not hand theirs out, or only hand out a cell phone number. Of course, not everybody has a home phone. So this might be a genuine excuse and you have to observe and see how easy it is to access him at any time through the number he gave you.
One reason of not giving out one’s phone number could be to prevent the online date from calling and leaving messages or directly talking to the wife. That would ruin his marriage and most likely he does not want to ruin his marriage, otherwise he would not keep it secret.
- His time availability.
After you have met face-to-face and started dating offline, you might notice that he only has time very sporadically and at abnormal times. Since he already has a regular family, or he has at least a married life and a job, he certainly needs to find time between the other two gigs to put another woman into his life. Since the guy has a family life already, the time available for him to call is very limited. This time might be everyday at ten or noon for example, when he is at work and his family is not around. He might call his online date just after having talked to his wife.
- His last name.
If the guy does not want to give out his last name, it is very likely that he is married and doesn’t want the online date to be able to establish a connection to his wife or find the phone number in the phonebook. As a married man he clearly wants to avoid that. Most likely he will also not be eager to introduce the online date to parents and friends, since that would lead back to his family and ruin his current family life.
These are only a few clues. So, ladies, when you get involved in online dating, it is important that you watch out for such indicators which can be an indirect indication of a guy’s other life.

All good relationships begin with successful flirting. In other words, flirting is the first step to a successful relationship. Online flirting is fundamentally no different from real-world flirting. Flirting is an art. Exercise it with tact and care.
Here are some tips which will help you to have a successful online flirting.
1. First of all, don’t try to go too fast. But don’t be too slow either. You have to find some kind of balance between these two extremes.
2. Smart flirting is playful. Have fun! Be light-hearted, funny and entertaining. Make her eager to talk to you again.
3. Successful flirts have a positive outlook on life. You know that an optimistic attitude attracts females. So, you need to generate and transmit a powerful “feel good” factor.
4. Nothing opens doors like making her feel good about herself. So, compliment your online date! Do it often and sincerely. She will want to chat longer with you and to spend more time with you. And if she pays you a compliment say “thank you”.
5. Do not be self depreciating. Be yourself. Talk about yourself and about your interests, honestly and positively. Build up your image as a charming and caring partner.
6. Listen…listen…listen. Pay close attention to what she says and ask her appropriate and relevant questions. Get her to open up and talk more about herself and her interests. Make her feel like she is interesting and unique and that you are interested in her.
7. Send an email after you chat as a way of nurturing your relationship. This gesture is like sending a thank you note for a gift and it can be vital to a successful online flirting.
8. Don’t be rude. Flirting does not involve being sexually explicit nor taking offence if your prospect is not responding to you the way you expected. If she isn’t interested, take it as a valuable hint and move on to the next prospect. Remember to take time to analyze the reasons why your messages didn’t go through. Obviously, if you get a lot of rejections, you should re-consider your approach and refine your flirting style.

You are now lucky. Your efforts have paid off. The online dating process you went through has helped you to identify your girl. What do you do next?
Simple. The first step once you have found the girl or woman you believe to be the one you really wanted for you, is to stop turning around in the online dating circles. Just cancel your membership to the online dating service for goodness sake and focus on nurturing and growing your new relationship. Be honest with yourself. Why would you keep sniffing around in the online dating services? After all, you know and she knows that online dating services are intended for those who are looking…not those who have found or who have been found.
Canceling your membership will be an indication that you have found your dream girl or woman and that you are no longer in search of somebody. That will set you free and will certainly allow you to focus on bringing that newly found relationship to the next level.

You are a man. You are looking for a girl or a women that you can like, a woman that you can even come to love and live with. Obviously, you are looking for a girl or woman who also is looking for a guy that she can like or even love.
You have joined an online dating service and you hope to find the girl of your dreams.
In order to identify the right girl for you…and you know for sure that she is out there, somewhere…you have to be totally honest with yourself about yourself at all the stages of the process: while writing your online profile, during the online dating process and beyond.
Before writing your dating profile, start by carefully analyzing your past relationship, if any. How was it started? What went wrong? How did you contribute to the deterioration of your past relationship? Be totally honest! This is very important if you want to start another relationship.
Think about the reasons that made you like the last girl or woman. Which things didn’t you like about her? List the qualities you expect from your future date and make sure that you also possess the qualities that your future date would expect from a loving and caring gentleman.
The next step is to write your profile and present yourself with total honesty. Don’t claim qualities or wealth or education you don’t have. Avoid exaggerating anything. You want to build a strong and durable relationship, so it is essential that your future date chooses you, based on what you really are, and not based on lies and exaggerations.
Don’t claim to be a lawyer with a six figure income while you are just a bar tender. You could impress somebody for a short time, but you would be short-sighted to believe that your future date will stick on a relationship which started with lies. So, don’t lie about your age, your income, your hobbies, your studies, your health… Be always honest about yourself.
What you want is to find a girl or woman who will like you exactly like you are. If you have lied in your profile, your face-to-face meetings will reveal the real you, and your date will understandably doubt your honesty. She will label you in her mind as a liar…and probably a cheat, as well. Your relationship might not go further after this discovery.
So, be proud of who you are. Be honest. You will always find somebody to accept you as you are. And your online dating experience will soon be rewarded by a potentially strong relationship.
