Some Clues To Detect If Your Online Dating Guy Might Be Married

Online dating is getting more popular every day. For different reasons which we discuss elsewhere, more and more people who want to find their soul mate choose to try their luck on the Internet.
Online dating services are not exclusively used by singles. Married guys also use them, for different reasons. Some might be thinking of separating from their wives, others might just be looking for extra-marital adventures behind their wives’ back.
As a girl, you would not like to embark in a relationship with a guy without knowing if he is married or not. Unfortunately, not all guys are honest and straightforward. The married guy will pose as if he was single and obviously won’t claim straight away that he is married and wants to cheat on his wife.
So which signs can show a girl that the guy she is dating through the online service is married? Here are some clues you might find useful:
- The picture on his profile page.
One first way to know, whether a guy is married can be the picture on his profile page.
Usually, married guys tend to use cover names and do not want to be recognized by anybody flipping through an online dating catalogue. Therefore, in their online profile, they post pictures in which they cannot be recognized or they do not post pictures at all. So, if the guy has not posting a picture or has posted a picture that is blurry or very dark, that could be a sign that he might be married. Also, note that if they did not post a picture online, they might want to send you one through either e-mail or regular mail where it is less likely that somebody recognizes them.
- The phone number issue.
Many married men want to have the home telephone numbers of their online date, but to protect themselves, they will not hand theirs out, or only hand out a cell phone number. Of course, not everybody has a home phone. So this might be a genuine excuse and you have to observe and see how easy it is to access him at any time through the number he gave you.
One reason of not giving out one’s phone number could be to prevent the online date from calling and leaving messages or directly talking to the wife. That would ruin his marriage and most likely he does not want to ruin his marriage, otherwise he would not keep it secret.
- His time availability.
After you have met face-to-face and started dating offline, you might notice that he only has time very sporadically and at abnormal times. Since he already has a regular family, or he has at least a married life and a job, he certainly needs to find time between the other two gigs to put another woman into his life. Since the guy has a family life already, the time available for him to call is very limited. This time might be everyday at ten or noon for example, when he is at work and his family is not around. He might call his online date just after having talked to his wife.
- His last name.
If the guy does not want to give out his last name, it is very likely that he is married and doesn’t want the online date to be able to establish a connection to his wife or find the phone number in the phonebook. As a married man he clearly wants to avoid that. Most likely he will also not be eager to introduce the online date to parents and friends, since that would lead back to his family and ruin his current family life.
These are only a few clues. So, ladies, when you get involved in online dating, it is important that you watch out for such indicators which can be an indirect indication of a guy’s other life.
